How we keep you safe
DoIt2Gether sits at the intersection of hospitality and community. The four pillars below — age verification, venue vetting, host responsibility, and our Aura reputation system — work together so that every gathering you attend starts from a baseline of trust.
Section 1
Strict R18 Policy
DoIt2Gether is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. Our experiences often take place in licensed dining and drink establishments, or involve active recreation. Minors are not permitted to register or attend.
Venues and hosts reserve the right to verify your age using standard New Zealand identification — your NZ Driver Licence, Passport, or Kiwi Access Card. If you cannot produce valid ID on request, entry may be refused and the coordination fee is non-refundable.
Section 2
Public, Vetted Venues Only
No DoIt2Gether experience ever takes place in a private residence. We only partner with verified, public, and licensed restaurants, cafes, and recreation venues in Auckland and Wellington.
Before a venue is listed, we vet their operating licence, public liability cover, and on-floor staffing. This means every gathering is held in a well-lit, supervised, public setting with trained staff present.
Section 3
NZ Host Responsibility Compliance
For all dining and social tables, our partner venues adhere strictly to New Zealand Host Responsibility guidelines under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Staff are trained to monitor intoxication, provide food and water, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for every guest.
Non-alcoholic options are always available, and no guest is ever pressured to drink.
Section 4
The Aura Safety System
Our community runs on respect. If a member displays behaviour that makes others uncomfortable, is disrespectful, or repeatedly fails to show up, they are flagged in our Aura reputation system.
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or unsafe behaviour. Confirmed violations result in immediate, permanent removal from the platform — with no right of re-registration.
Section 5
Meet at the Venue
For your first few experiences, always arrange your own transport and meet your group directly at the venue. Avoid arranging private rides or carpools with people you have just met until you have established trust over multiple gatherings.
Section 6
Keep Your Friends in the Loop
Before heading out, tell a friend or family member where you are going, what time the experience starts, and when you expect to be home. The Add to Calendar button on your booking makes this easy — share the invite directly with a trusted contact.
Section 7
Stay in Control
If you choose to drink alcohol, pace yourself and stay within your limits. Our partner venues can easily help you coordinate a safe ride home via taxi or rideshare if needed — just ask the floor staff.
Section 8
Listen to Your Gut
If at any point during a gathering you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, you are entirely free to leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation. Let venue staff know on your way out if you need help arranging transport, and follow up with us afterward so we can take action.
Section 9
Reporting an Issue
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates our community standards, please report it to us immediately:
- Email us directly at hello@doit2gether.com.
- All reports are handled with absolute confidentiality and investigated immediately by our founding team.
- Where appropriate, we will coordinate with the relevant venue and, with your consent, with NZ Police.
You can also read our full Community Constitution for the values every member agrees to on sign-up.
Section 10
In an emergency
In case of an immediate physical emergency, please contact New Zealand Emergency Services by dialling 111 for Police, Fire, or Ambulance. Contact us afterward so we can support you and take action on the platform.
